The works Whisperer VI, VII and VIII is a continuation of the series Whisperers by Lito Kattou. The series initially discusses the cooperatives between craftswomen and the colonial utilization and development of the basket weaving craft in the South Eastern Mediterranean, but also the attempt to imagine new forms of existence constantly adapting and transforming within the surrounding environmental forces. The works are positioned in perpetual connection and dialogue with the physical phenomena that surrounds them. They seems to traverse lands, boundaries and terrains by wandering and continuously relocating through their body features or on chariots accompanied by animals and flora. Memories from burden landscapes engraved on their epidermis, figures of dogs and birds, hand-woven baskets and thistle flowers collected from Mediterranean localities that are then copper plated by the artist as a gesture of preservation and transformation of matter, are carried on their body and through their gear. They seem to be personifications or similes to non-human creatures or mythical figures that are roving, moving constantly - forcefully obliged by geopolitical and environmental contexts of friction and displacement, or by a need of re-establishing connections with the world anew.
